Before India gained independence, a few young men from the villages wanted to
free India from the foreign yoke; they wanted the British to quit India. They
needed material wealth to throw the British out of India, so they started collecting
money in the Indian villages.
One day, they got inspired to collect material things as well. They went from
door to door carrying a huge bag, which gradually was filled with money and
gifts. As they went, a one-legged beggar kept following them. The young men
did not mind.
At the end of the day, they entered into a house to see what they had collected.
The beggar also wanted to enter, but since he was not a member of the group,
they did not allow him in. The beggar pleaded with them: "I walked such
a long distance right behind you. You want freedom; I also want freedom. Our
Motherland is not only your property. It is also my property."
At first, the young men got mad and told the beggar to go away. Then one of
the men felt sorry for him, so they decided to show him the things they had
collected. While the beggar was looking at the gifts in their bag, most of them
were showing him real contempt. Then suddenly the beggar opened up the bag that
he had been carrying. It contained a few coins and some rice. He spontaneously
threw all the contents into their bag.
Immediately all the members of the revolutionary group started shedding tears
of gratitude, because he had given all that he had to their cause. On that day,
they had gone to visit so many rich families, who had given them next to nothing;
but this beggar had given them everything that he had! They were deeply moved
by the beggar's contribution.

Thunderstorms are one of Mother Nature's grandest displays: the
smell of electricity in the air, the deluge of rain and hail, high
winds rocking the trees and the ever resounding crack of the lightning
striking the air.
Have you ever thought of thunderstorms are like spiritual storms?
The intensity of thunder roaring and swiftness of the lightning is like
the shock and fear that grabs at us at various points in our lives. It
shakes our perceptions, knowings and beliefs to a core we never thought
possible. Our lives may be turned upside down as we ride the storms of
life through turbulent waters, unending rain and pain, and tornadoes of
emotions and soul searching questions. "Love is what we are born with. Fear is what we have learned here... An
ancient memory of this love haunts all of us all the time, and beckons
us to return."
There is nothing to fear in this process. Just like Thunderstorms,
spiritual storms do not last long. Afterwards, the air is crystal
clean, the birds return and the sun shines again. A cleansing has taken
place for your mindy, body and spirit.
Storms
will come and go, each giving us an opportunity to grow and learn more
about ourselves in the process. Welcome the newness, you deserve it. Are you standing in the middle of an emotional, spiritual or mental storm? Do you have the strength to stand in the midst of it knowing it will pass very soon? Have you recognized the higher spiritual lesson? Maybe it is time. Notice how well you cope with the storm, it indicates having the
strength. Don't be afraid to embrace the storm with open arms for the
Universe loves you...you have nothing to fear so TRUST!

About ten years ago, a young and very successful
executive named Josh was traveling down a Chicago neighborhood street. He
was going a bit too fast in his sleek, black, 12 cylinder Jaguar XKE, which
was only two months old.
He was watching for kids darting out from between
parked cars and slowed down when he thought he saw something. As his car
passed, no child darted out, but a brick sailed out and - WHUMP! - it
smashed Into the Jag's shiny black side door! SCREECH!
Brakes slammed!
Gears ground into reverse, and tires madly spun the Jaguar back to the spot
from where the brick had been thrown. Josh jumped out of the car, grabbed
the kid and pushed him up against a parked car. He shouted at the kid, "What
was that all about and who are you? Just what the heck are you doing?!"
Building up a head of steam, he went on. "That's my new Jag, that brick you
threw is gonna cost you a lot of money. Why did you throw it?""Please, mister, please. . . I'm sorry! I didn't know
what else to do!" Pleaded the youngster. "I threw the brick because no one
else would stop!" Tears were dripping down the boy's chin as he pointed
around the parked car. "It's my brother, mister," he said. "He rolled off
the curb and fell out of his wheelchair and I can't lift him up." Sobbing,
the boy asked the executive, "Would you please help me get him back into his
wheelchair? He's hurt and he's too heavy for me."
Moved beyond words, the young executive tried
desperately to swallow the rapidly swelling lump in his throat. Straining,
he lifted the young man back into the wheelchair and took out his
handkerchief and wiped the scrapes and cuts, checking to see that everything
was going to be OK. He then watched the younger brother push him down the
sidewalk toward their home.
It was a long walk back to the sleek, black, shining,
12 cylinder Jaguar XKE -a long and slow walk. Josh never did fix the side
door of his Jaguar. He kept the dent to remind him not to go through life so
fast that someone has to throw a brick at him to get his attention. . . Some
bricks are softer than others. Feel for the bricks of life coming at to you.
For all the negative things we have to say to ourselves, God has positive
answers.

A young man was getting ready to graduate college. For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's showroom, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted.
As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car. Finally, on the morning of his graduation his father called him into his private study. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son a beautiful wrapped gift box.
Curious, but somewhat disappointed the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible. Angrily, he raised his voice at his father and said, "With all your money you give me a Bible?" and stormed out of the house, leaving the holy book.
Many years passed and the young man was very successful in business. He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his father was very old, and thought perhaps he should go to him. He had not seen him since that graduation day. Before he could make arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He needed to come home immediately and take care things. When he arrived at his father's house, sudden sadness and regret filled his heart.
He began to search his father's important papers and saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. As he read those words, a car key dropped from an envelope taped behind the Bible. It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the words... PAID IN FULL.
How many times do we miss God's blessings because they are not packaged as we expected?

Don’t we all wish some aspects of our childhood had been different? If only!
If only my father had not been alcoholic. If only my mother had been
emotionally present for me. If only I had felt as though I belonged
and fit in. If only we hadn’t moved just when I found a best friend.
If only I had not been abused. If only I had been smarter or prettier
or popular. The list goes on but it ends in the same place. If only that hadn’t happened, then my life would have been different and now I would be happier and more successful.
Rather than looking at our deep childhood wounds and the limiting beliefs that resulted as obstacles to our growth and development, I have come to learn that they are actually the stepping stones to our soul’s fulfillment. Let me explain.
Beginning
in the womb and throughout our early years, we are learning how to
survive in this world. How do we stay safe and loved? As we
experience life, we are creating subconscious belief systems. This is
how it works. An event happens that has emotional impact. Let’s say
you’re 6 years old, proud to be in first grade, and you raise your hand
to give an answer. Your answer is wrong and the kids laugh. In that
moment of humiliation you shut down inside and form a belief, or many
beliefs, about yourself and your place in the world.
You may decide
you can’t trust your own knowing. You thought you were right but you
were wrong. Instantaneously, a belief system is formed that consists
of four elements:
(1) the thought “I can’t trust what I think I know”;
(2) the age 6; (3) the emotion of shutting down in humiliation; and (4)
the event of being laughed at. Those four elements fuse together and
this belief system is programmed into your subconscious mind as though
it is the truth about you.
Until
this belief changes at the subconscious level, it acts as a reliable
program. Each time it is activated in life, it pulls you right back
into that forgotten experience and you feel that same depth of
humiliation and fear of trusting yourself. As an adult, you doubt your
own knowing, not trusting yourself for fear of making a mistake and
being humiliated. This belief filters your thinking and you make poor
choices. It’s a powerful belief that feels very real. You look at your
life and see where it has proven out time and again. You trust your
knowing and you’re wrong. The belief plays out in your life as true,
so therefore it must be true.
What’s
actually true is that you have a belief system. You subconsciously
believe you can’t trust your knowing, and so you can’t. You feel
paralyzed when you consider action based on your gut instincts and then
you make wrong choices. The belief itself is not true even though it
feels real within you.
The truth is that the belief system is just an energized thought. It’s
words, actually; words that are charged with energy and emotion. It’s
just a thought and it never was true. At age six you gave a wrong
answer in class and the kids laughed. That is no reason to distrust
your inner knowing for the rest of your life! Yet in that small
incident you formed a belief that has had enormous influence over your
ability to trust yourself.
Distrusting yourself may feel like a nemesis in your life. If only
you trusted yourself, your life would be better. You could be the
person you were meant to be except that belief is in your way.
From
a soul’s perspective, this limiting belief system is a blessing in your
life. It is your soul’s path to learn to trust yourself this
lifetime. By moving through the enormous fear and actually taking
action based on your inner knowing, you are learning an important
lesson your soul has come to experience. From our soul’s higher
perspective, our limiting beliefs are not our obstacles but rather our
pathway to growth. It is by moving through our limiting beliefs and
fears that we blossom into a far greater version of ourselves.
I invite you to begin the practice of seeing your greatest obstacles
and limiting beliefs as your greatest blessings. It’s not easy, but
this practice can guide you on your path of living your soul’s calling.

One
day an alien spacecraft landed in a remote region of North America. Two
extraterrestrials left the craft to explore the area. Completely unlike
us, everything they saw was new and unfamiliar. The following is a
translation of the conversation they had when they came upon an
abandoned log cabin.
"Look at this structure. It
has a geometric shape. Nature does not express itself in perfect
geometric forms. This building may be a sign of intelligence!"
"Wait
a minute! Don't rush to judgment. Look at the walls of the structure.
Isn't it clear that they are made from trees, like those in the nearby
forest? Isn't it possible that trees were cut down by lightning in an
electrical storm, and as they rolled down that mountain, their limbs
were removed? Later, perhaps hundreds or thousands of years later,
bolts of lightning in another electrical storm cut the fallen logs into
the same size pieces that make up this wall."
"But who or what assembled the pieces?"
"A windstorm of course! Yes, a windstorm could have blown the logs on top of one another, making the walls of this cabin."
"But how do you explain the windows?"
"Ah,
the windows . . . Well, perhaps the soil in this or a nearby area is
rich in silica. And when struck by lighting, it formed glass. Maybe
there later was a severe hailstorm that smoothed out the glass.
Finally, a lightning bolt ricocheting from a boulder cut the glass into
a windowpane. Another lightning bolt made a hole in the wall. The sides
of the opening in the wall may have been smothened by some gnawing
insects. Finally, in another freak windstorm, the windowpane was blown
into position. Oh, yes, later the window was sealed with tree sap or
something. You see, we can explain how this structure evolved. Let's
call it the theory of evolution."
Do
you find it difficult to believe the outside of a log cabin could come
together purely by chance? How much more so if we try to account for
the furniture, as well as the plumbing and electrical systems of the
cabin! Yet, humans are infinitely more complex than the tallest
skyscraper. If we cannot believe that buildings can arise purely by
chance, how can we accept that humans developed that way?
We
mustn't be too hard on the extraterrestrial for his theory of
evolution. After all, he was partly right. Creation doesn't take place
spontaneously, but evolves. Creation is not an act, but a process.
Whether it is this article or an automobile, many steps are involved
before reaching the final product. The only mistake the
extraterrestrial made was failing to recognize the INTELLIGENCE that
directs the process of creation or evolution.
Skyscrapers,
bridges, and subways are proof of man's existence. Man, the wonders of
life, and the cosmos are proofs of God's existence. By 'God,' I do not
mean the God of any particular religion, for God is not a Catholic,
Protestant, Jew, Muslim, Hindu, or Buddhist. He is none of these
things. Yet, He is all these things, for He is the Intelligence behind
all that is.
Nature
is God speaking to us. Nature makes the existence of God self-evident.
I disagree with Dietrich Bonhoeffer (1906 ~ 1945) who said, "A god who
let us prove his existence would be an idol." No, I think a god who let
us prove his existence would be a friend.
To
witness and experience the wonders of life and deny the Intelligence
that created them is unnatural, unreasonable, unwarranted, and
unbelievable. Even Sir Fred Hoyle (1915 ~ 2001), the prominent British
mathematician and astronomer who tried to prove the universe is without
beginning or end (the steady-state theory) had this to say, "The chance
that higher forms (of life) have emerged in this way is comparable with
the chance that a tornado sweeping through a junk-yard might assemble a
Boeing 747 from the materials therein." We are standing in the
junkyard, looking at a Bowing 747. Isn't our belief in a Designer
rational; that is, based on the evidence before us?
Those
who would argue that our existence came about solely by chance do more
than defy common sense; they also defy logic. For if it were true that
everything came about by chance and has no meaning, it logically
follows that their argument also came about by chance and is empty of
meaning!
Common sense tells us that Intelligence (God) created us, but so
what? What's the significance? Well, acknowledging the existence of God
is a gateway. Recognizing that truth opens us up to the Divine Power
that permeates the universe. Once we realize what we are (children of
God), what is there to fear? What is there to prevent us from reaching
our dreams? As we see God everywhere, enemies change to friends, doubts
to faith, fear to courage, weakness to strength, resistance to
cooperation, unhappiness to joy, aimlessness to purpose, ugliness to
beauty, evil to goodness, and ignorance to wisdom.
When
the universe enraptures us with wonder and awe, we may be tempted to
shout, "How great Thou art," but it is really a testament to how great
WE are, for God created the universe for us. It is our playground, our
field of dreams, and our path to the discovery of our Creator. To
discover God is to discover our heritage and learn more about us. And
an interest in God can lead to the study of the sacred scriptures of
the world, which can be a font of wisdom and guidance.
Yes,
God is all around us. To become aware of Him, all we have to do is open
our eyes, ears, minds, and hearts. When we do so, we will be like the
little boy in the following poem.
He was just a little boy
on a week's first day.
He was wandering home from Sunday School and dawdling on the way.
He scuffed his shoes into the grass ,
He found a caterpillar.
He found a fluffy milkweed pod,
and blew out all the "filler."
A bird's nest in a tree over head,
So wisely placed on high.
Was just another wonder
that caught his eager eye.
A neighbor watched his zig zag course,
and hailed him from the lawn;
Asked him where he'd been that day
and what was going on.
"I've been to Bible School," he said
and turned a piece of sod.
He picked up a wiggly worm
replying, "I've learned a lot of God."
"M'm very fine way," the neighbor said,
"for a boy to spend his time."
"If you'll tell me where God is,
I'll give you a brand new dime."
Quick as a flash the answer came!
Nor were his accents faint.
"I'll give you a dollar Mister, if you can tell me where God ain't!

With each lifetime we return to Earth to complete an aspect of our
healing mission. This healing journey is the fulfillment of our soul
contract, whose ultimate purpose is to remember our divinity, reconnect
to Source, and to re-align our energy from polarity to connection. The
process has occurred slowly by design so we could experience multiple
aspects of separation and build this paradigm for future generations.
Our progress depended on our ability to recognize our mastery and find
our power from within. Humanity’s core wound, that it was ‘less than’
God is what we have all come to heal. And there are two ways for us to
conduct our healing journey, through atonement or connection.
Each of us begins a lifetime with some aspect of the earth energy as
the focus of our healing. This may involve lessons in power, truth,
acceptance or limitation. We have undertaken these lessons many times,
each one bringing us closer to our spiritual Truth. All of them are
aspects of the fear polarity we have been resonating with and reflect
our attempts to move closer to unconditional love. While we enter a
lifetime with only a vague memory of our soul contract, purpose and
lifetimes of learning, we are not alone in our healing journey. We have
many helpers, both in the spiritual world, in the form of our angels
and guides, and on the earth plane, in the form of our soul group, to
remind us of what we have come to do.
Our soul group, the souls who share our wounds and healing purpose, are
traveling and learning with us. Together we will share experiences,
playing different roles across the course of many lifetimes to resolve
the shared aspects of our healing journey. Along with our individual
soul groups, represented by our relationships, we are also part of the
soul group of humanity, whose collective journey reflects a movement
from fear into love, from pain into joy and from polarity into
connection. All of them work with us to mirror our healing journey back
to us so that we can learn to forgive. But too often we see this as
confirmation of our unworthiness and we continue the energy instead of
giving ourselves closure.
Beginning each lifetime with the purpose of healing karma sets the
energetic paradigm that encourages and even invites karmic experiences
so we can heal them. But with our fear polarity focused approach and an
inability to see its opposite, unconditional love, our journey is
challenging as we step into the abyss of our karma, realizing that we
are reliving a story whose end will result in more pain and suffering.
And so the cycles continue until we learn something that we have never
known before, that there is another avenue for our healing.
Through our many karmic cycles we have come to accept that it is a
process of atonement where we must re-live the pain we have caused
ourselves and others. And so we return in each lifetime to offer
ourselves as a sacrifice in order to make up for what we have done
before. Within this path we create great suffering that often remains
unresolved and is carried into future lifetimes. This is the path of
the unconscious mind that believes in its imperfection, error and
separation. The unconscious mind enters each lifetime believing it is
wrong and unworthy of love. And through suffering it will be cleansed,
perfected and healed. This is humanity’s karmic struggle.
There is another, conscious path for our healing journey, one that
remembers the truth about our healing journey, how it is an opportunity
for us to remember, forgive and within the moment of forgiveness, to
reconnect to our divinity. In that instant karma is healed. It is
possible to engage this process without falling into the abyss,
revisiting every painful, difficult experience we have had in a
previous lifetime. But we have to stay conscious, remember the Truth of
who we are and to be willing to allow ourselves to stay out of
atonement and walk in grace. And when we are looking in the mirror of
karma, to remember that we are looking at ourselves.
How we heal, who we heal with and how that journey is completed has
been a complicated process where we have often looked for validation
outside ourselves to confirm that we have accomplished our mission. If
we can bring one person to enlightenment, heal even one other soul, we
feel successful. But as we learn more about our power we are brought to
the truth of spirit, that everyone is on their own healing journey and
where our experiences intersect is where each one of us can complete
our healing. That is the purpose of our karma, to heal ourselves. Each
person engaged in a karmic cycle is seeking healing.
We heal others by becoming the healing they need, holding their energy,
mirroring their wounds and then allowing them to heal through our
efforts. This is what we have believed our role as healers to be, to
bring others to healing by mirroring to them how painful and difficult
their wounds are. Whether we do this through illness, self-denial,
abandonment, experiencing betrayal, or allowing others to hurt us, our
purpose is to heal them, to offer ourselves as a martyr and sacrifice
to bring them to healing. But our real purpose is to heal and release
ourselves.
This is our journey ‘home’, to reconnect to our own mastery and to
remember that all is forgiven when we remember to forgive ourselves.
And this is the purpose of our healing journey which is complete when
we bring our material self into alignment with our divinity. The
energetic paradigms of fear and pain will unravel when we align our
material self, the ego, with the truth of our spiritual mastery, which
brings us to enlightenment. We are children of God but more
importantly, we are children of the Light and we are the light that
brings healing to the world when we heal ourselves. And this healing is
not about righting wrongs, it is about reconnection, remembering,
re-alignment and a renewal of what we have always known, that we
already are what we have always wanted and the love and joy that we
have been for.

Once there was a very poor and devoted woman who always prayed to the
Glory of God, asking very little, if anything for herself. But one
thought, one desire continued to recur and finally she asked:
petitioning the Lord, that if it were possible she would love to
prepare a special meal and have God share at her table. And God, in His
Love for this goodly woman, said He would indeed come the next day and
share a meal.Filled with ecstasy, the woman went out the
following morning with her meager purse and purchased such delicacies
that she felt would please the Lord.Returning home, she
prepared a banquet and waited patiently for her most honored guest.
Soon there was a knock on the door, and when she opened it, there stood
an old beggar asking for something to eat. Being a woman of God, she
could not turn the beggar away, so she invited him in to partake of her
table. The beggar felt as if he was in a dream - such a feast set
before him. He finished all the food, thanked his hostess and left. The
woman was only slightly disheartened, she gathered up her purse, her
coat, and hurried back to town to get more food for her special guest.
Her funds were less now and so the food was not quite so elaborate.
Nonetheless, she lovingly prepared another meal and sat to await the
arrival of the Almighty.A few hours went by and there was a
loud knock on the door. This time it was an old gypsy woman with no
teeth, who was deaf, who spoke quite loudly and was, rather rudely,
insisting that any true believer in the Lord would not deny her
something to eat.Though the woman had no more money with which
to buy more supplies, she invited the woman in and offered her a seat
at the table. The gypsy ate everything, did not even thank the woman
and left without closing the door.By now it was beginning to
get dark both inside and out. The woman's faith was strong, so that,
though somewhat distraught, she did not give up, but rather, looked
around her humble house to see if there was anything she could sell in
order to buy more food to set before the Lord. She hurried to
town with a little silver cup that had been in her family for several
generations, but she was willing to part with it for the great honor
that God was going to bestow on her - the sharing of a meal.Late
in the night she rushed home to prepare yet a third meal. She waited
and waited until, once more, there was a knock on the door. Holding her
breath, she slowly opened the door to find yet another poor man in the
guise of a wandering monk, in search of a meal.Again, she
offered hospitality, with as much grace as she could muster in her
disappointment. This man also ate all that was set on the table and
left after blessing the woman for her kindness. So discouraged and
dismayed was she that all she could do was nod slightly, in
acknowledgment of the thanks. Now it was too late, with no way
to buy any more food and no more money with which to buy it. She got
down on her knees, weeping such heart-broken tears. She asked God what
she had done wrong. Why had God not come to share at the table as He
had promised? And God, in all His Divine Compassion and Mercy,
lifted the woman off her knees, and holding her close to His Heart,
said, "My child, I enjoyed your hospitality so much that I came three
times!"

While walking in the garden one day, God said to Michael. "Michael, see the branches of this bush?"
"Yes, Lord," said Michael.
"I want you to trim this bush
and to take the buds off of the twigs.
I want you to save the buds,
mixing them so that they make a sweet aroma. Take the milk of hyssop
and let it flow over them. Grind it into a fine paste. Smear the paste
on the hands and faces of my followers. The light will radiate out from
it and reflect wonderfully back from it into the hearts of those who
look at them. Their faces will be brightened with joy, precious and
dear. For I, the Lord, am their God."
Michael did as the Lord God bid.
He cut the branches and mixed the paste. He smeared it upon his face.
He went out to seek those who would wear this paste and radiate the joy
of the Lord out to the others. He looked far and wide, but could not
find a single person willing to wear the light on their face. When he
looked into the vial he had mixed it in, it radiated light and love.
Finally, Michael met a woman.
"This light is of the Lord, God," said Michael. "See how it brightens
the countenance more than any makeup can?"
"No," the woman dissented. "I will not wear it."
Undaunted, Michael tried again.
He tried every one he could find. As he did, the light in the vial
began to grow. It shone out brightly as though the sun was being
carried in his hand. It spread far and wide. It touched the people who
would not wear the light, who would not accept the gift.
As Michael passed through the
streets of the towns, the vial of light showed the path clearly before
him. Safety was his. Light became him, joy filled his being. As the
bearer of light, Michael himself began to glow. He had become that
which he bore to the world. Eventually, Michael returned to the Lord
God.
He handed the vial of light back to Him.
God said. "No, Michael, it is
yours. It has become you. You are the bud of new life, you are the
bringer of joy, you are the bearer of light. Remain in it. The vial is
no longer important, for what it contained is now contained within you.
Allow it to remain within you."
"But, what of the others?" Michael asked.
"The others have not taken the
light for themselves for this particular part of me was always to be
yours.
Each person is given their own vial of light. Some know this.
They are the ones who laughed with you even though they declined to
receive the gift you brought. Some do not know this. They are the ones
who hid their eyes."
"Who would accept this gift of the light that is me, Lord," Michael asked.
"The ones who have opened their
vials, and drunk the sweetness of the gift for themselves. Love fills
them to the brim and they understand overflowing their light into
others. These are the ones who truly love. Remain with them. Allow your
light to overflow and fill them for in that overflowing and blending
and mixing all are one in me. Return to them now, dear Michael, and
bring my message to them, to the ones who have forgotten that they too
hold the light, and are already me."
Michael ran up and embraced the
Lord God. Great was his joy at being one with Him. Full was his spirit.
Love filled his being to overflowing. Love flowed out of him and back
to God.
Thus was the circle of light
established and recognized.
Thus was the flow recognized. Michael went
out into the world to teach the others and returned to be with God
often.
And so it is........
The Group continues......
This parable is for those of you
who wish to channel, who wish to hear the voice of God within them.
Remember always, that you carry the vial of light within you already.
Remember always that you are one with the Lord. You are already full.
Do not miss this point. You are already full of God. Look within to the
voice of your soul. Remain in the joy of your own being and allow that
joy to spill out to the others. Laugh and dance and sing your life's
song, for so it is with God.
Allow us to tell you how dearly
we love you and how very much we wish to assist all to recognize their
own power. We are with all of you. It is our greatest pleasure to
assist you all in recognizing yourselves. You are God in a fun house of
mirrors, bewildered and confused at your own image. Know this. Allow
the mirrors to confuse you not. Just laugh as you would in the fun
houses on earth.
Remember standing in front of
the mirror that made you look short and fat? Remember the one that made
you look tall and skinny, and the one that combined the two images?
Remember how hard you laughed? You called your friends to come and look
also and you had a wonderful time of it. We tell you this. Being on
earth is like being in that fun house. Have a wonderful laugh over it.
Nothing is that serious. Know that the images are distorted, not real,
not of any substance. Do not allow yourselves to be fooled into
thinking that any of this is real.
We know that in recent weeks
there have been great tragedies. Those are not real either. They were
caused by the thinking of certain individuals that the images they saw
of themselves were to be believed, and that the images they saw of the
others were to be believed also. Had they perceived the light within
their own selves and seen themselves worthy of joy, their decisions

We all live
our lives to a pattern in one way or another, so why change it? Simply, because
the current one doesn't work as well as we would like it to. Let me explain
the current patterns we try and live our lives to:
We are all born
entering the world never having heard the language we now speak, without the
opinions we now hold and without the experiences we have had so far in this
life. From that moment of birth we are conditioned to think and act in certain
ways. Most of the conditioning happens without awareness. It is about behaviours,
words and deeds, passed on from generation to generation. Let me give you
some examples of what I mean:
The first thing
that seems to be taught to babies is the idea of judgement, of good and bad,
e.g. a baby smiling and gurgling is praised and told they are good, however
crying in the middle of the night is not. A baby eating messily is invariably
told that it is bad. A big smile is deemed to be good. A pungent nappy and
the child is told that they are smelly and nasty.Children are
continually learning as they grow. They are taught about the world around
them, social skills and the value of judgement, what is good and what is bad,
what is right and what is wrong. As the child grows it persistently asks questions
Why this? Why that? What does this do? after a while the exasperated parent
tells the child to shut up. The child interprets this instruction to mean
they are being bad. Another example is when the child is trying to be helpful
or doing something useful and is finding it a bit of a struggle, they are
then pushed to one side with words like "get out of my way." or "I haven't
got time for you to finish that, let me do it." All these messages are interpreted
by the child as an indication of their badness.Following on
from the good and bad, children are quickly educated in the scarcity and value
of material resources eg A request for an object is usually met with "..can't
afford it" "...costs money and I haven't got any" "..they don't grow on trees
you know."
In summary, the child grows up with an unconscious pattern of what they are
like: too slow, incapable, not worth loving, clueless, not good enough, unworthy,
bad, fearful, etc. This is what they carry with them as they grow up. By the
age of 4 or 5 children have all their own core beliefs. They are unlikely
to think of themselves as a perfect example of a human being.
As we grow
events happen and we react to them. This reaction is based on the beliefs
we hold. Whatever the event our thoughts fit our beliefs. A typical example
is where someone receives a compliment, but because their unconscious belief,
created in early childhood, is they are not worthy of such a compliment they
react to confirm their unworthiness. Such as: "You look lovely" - "No I don't
my nose is too large" or "my behind's too big". "You made a really good job
of that" - "No, I messed up that bit" or "I could have done it better". It
is worth noting that for the most part the conditioning is not intentionally
designed to give this belief system, but comes as a consequence of how we
have all been conditioned in a similar manner, going back as many generations
as you care to look.
Adult behaviour
is then a reflection of personal beliefs. Two people may experience the same
thing, but each views it from their personal perspective, creating their own
reality. Our reality is confirmed and reinforced by everything around us,
the media and those we meet. We look, listen, see and engage in whatever confirms
our view of reality, tending to ignore or "not go there" for the bits that
our feelings tell us don't fit. An example of how much we choose to see is
after having purchased a new car we suddenly start to notice greater numbers
of "our car" on the road, the number of cars has not altered but our perception
has.
Based on lifelong
conditioning the world we inhabit is one where there is very limited love,
of which we don't deserve any. There is a shortage of everything required
for living a good life, which we have to work hard for and even then may never
get. To get on in life you have to prove you're better than the next person.
You have no power or influence in most areas of your life; you just do as
you are told. Without a job you will have no money so won't be able to pay
the mortgage, feed yourself, survive etc.
That's life
as we know it Jim!
But is it? Most
of us are unaware of how much power we have to influence our own lives. From
childhood we have been conditioned to give our power away to others because
that's what we are taught is right. Your power comes from awareness and choice.
You are free to make whatever choices you wish. There are times when you may
consider the options available to choose from as not being options, but they
are there nonetheless. Your choices are based on your beliefs.
The more you
are aware of your beliefs the more varied and informed your selection of options
will be.On the matter
of awareness I'd like to make you aware of the undisputed results of some
scientific experiments carried out in Universities around the world. Many
of the experiments having been carried out in the last ten years:
1. We are all
energy bodies, vibrating at different rates.
2. Everything is connected to everything else; nothing is separate (from this
experiment it should be noted that the whole of creation is one unit of energy
- you cannot judge one unit as being good or bad or right or wrong as you
need two to do that, so judgement is unnecessary!)
3. EVERY THOUGHT YOU HAVE AFFECTS THE WHOLE OF CREATION INSTANTLY (not just
you or even this planet or universe)
4. Nothing is real until you observe it and then it is only there whilst the
observation occurs.
5. Time is not real, the only time is NOW i.e. everything occurs now, everything
exists now
6. Energy has a preference for being organized in balanced, harmonious patterns
rather than existing in a chaotic or non harmonious state
7. We all have our own realities and are solely responsible for them
8. The planet earth and all the people on it have a collective consciousness
that reacts to events (In simple terms the planet and all that's on it may
be compared to a tree. It reacts to events as a whole - but each element of
the tree, such as roots, branches, leaves, reacts differently in a strong
wind, yet is still part of the whole)
I would now
like to interpret the current pattern of life in the light of these 8 points:
Our conditioned
thinking is that we are all individuals (as Darwin proposed - survival of
the fittest) and that there is a lack of resources, ensuring we have to struggle
to have enough to survive. From 1 and 2 above you will see that everything
is energy and connected, there is no separation, and so we have access to
all and everything in creation. Point 3, by use of thought we can manifest
our desires, providing they are harmonious with the rest of creation, (point
6). Point 7, we are responsible for what we manifest in our reality. At the
moment we are conditioned to manifest non-harmonious realities, based on our
conditioned fears but we can change our conditioning and create abundance
and harmony for ourselves and the whole, (point 8).
The previous
paragraph is probably hard to swallow for most people. It flies in the face
of most of what you have been taught so far in your life. It is almost too
good to be true and if it's true why aren't more people doing it? More people
aren't doing it because they are not aware of the existence of the possibilities
available or do not believe it. Look around you, the happy people are doing
it, those with inner peace are doing it.
There is no
secret formula for changing your life. Simply BE AWARE.
Aware of: the eight points mentioned previously
what really makes you happy
what makes you unhappy
what you are thinking
your feelings
how judgment forms a major part of everyday thinking
how your conditioning is reinforced by life around you
how you make conditions about your behaviour I love you (but you've got to
love me in return)
why and why not (why happy, why sad, why this thought and not that, why this
feeling and not that feeling)
At the first
time of reading the list you are likely to dismiss it out of hand as it does
not fit your reality, saying to yourself "it's not for me". You have been
conditioned to believe "facts" that are not true, or factual, for all of your
life. You have been conditioned that anything outside of those "facts" is
rubbish, poppycock etc. How can somebody so imperfect be this powerful?
You are reading this because you have a desire to change. To turn a desire
to change into change takes courage, faith and practice. You have been practicing
your way all your life, however many years that is, so an overnight change
is unlikely to occur. Be honest with yourself, listen to your feelings. Practice
being the person you want to become. Practice accepting yourself as you are
and allow yourself to be who you are, without judging yourself as unworthy,
not good enough etc. You're OK learn to believe it.
As your awareness increases through practice and the truth behind points 1
to 8 becomes apparent, you are able to make more informed choices on matters
concerning your life and so you take control of your destiny and start leading
the life that makes you happier, more contented, stress free etc. Not sure of
what you want to be or what route to follow? Here's a way. Assume there are
no obstacles in your life stopping you being or doing whatever you wish. Create
a wish list of the five most important things. Place them in order of priority.
Write down what is needed to fulfil that wish eg if you want to "be happy"
what is it that makes you happy - Make sure you get back to the root reason.
Saying having lots of money would make you happy is not the root, saying what
you would do with the money may not be the root, identifying why you would
spend the money in a particular way may be closer to the root. Now you know
what it is you truly desire. You know where you are now and know where you
want to be. Start on the road, whatever you do remember where you are going
and act accordingly. Simple but it works!
